“Gustoso” means tasty in Italian. We named our main blog in honour of Italy winning the football World Cup 2006, and our first food challenge blog.
We love to write about our experiences of steaming up the windows (and sometimes my glasses) in the kitchen with our cooking, and getting our boots muddy outdoors in the garden (well when it rains). We are slowly moving towards a natural, wholefoods diet. Our gardening is influenced by organic and permaculture practices and techniques.

Our challenges
2011 – About the 100 recipes to cook in your lifetime challenge and the list.
2010 – We were back over at The World Cup and Plate.
2009 – Drought hampered our challenge to see if two amateur gardeners can become self sufficient by converting their lawn to lunch in a year.
2008 – And again for the The Euro Cup and Plate.
2006 - We were eating and drinking our way around the world guided by the World Cup schedule - The World Cup and Plate.
Professionally we both work full-time in online education. This is our place where we can be creative and experiment with online technologies and our digital camera.
We’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. Hope you stop back again. I like Gustoso!
Hey M’s
What a wonderful site. Very inspiring, we must start weighing my produce to see how much more I need to plant. I’m going to tell all my friends at Gold Coast Organic Growers to check it out! And I can’t believe you love football too! Nicci
What a great name for a blog like this.
Sorry, that’s a spam I get about once a week and sometimes enjoy saying myself when I like the title. In California we get a guy with a deep voice saying that at the end of commercials on the Latin radio stations.
I like the recipes. I first read the permaculture book when I was living for a little while in Mullumbimby.
Good luck on your challenge! Based on what I see I think you guys are going to be totally successful!
I love your site. Keep it up !
You guys are amazing, love what you’re doing.
Love ‘gustoso’.
Thank you.

Malaysia.
Hi, Just found your blog via the Organic Gardener magazine. I will definitely be back to look around.
Hi, I too just found your blog in the Organic Gardener mag. My husband and I have just started doing this too and soon hope to have some chickens.
Tammy
Cool blog, thanks for stopping by to mine too.
Hi,
I work at the BBC and would really like to use your picture of the 60s pineapple and cheese on sticks stuck in a grapefruit. Could you please let me know asap if that would be possible. We would of course credit you.
Thanks,
Katie
Hi,
Being self sufficient in food is most worthy goal. I have great pleasure in knowing what I’ve grown is going straight onto the plate within an hour of it being harvested.
Hope you don’t mind, but I have included your site to be indexed by my search engine on http://www.ecowho.com .
Keep on growing. We too will be keeping chickens next..
Regards
Keith

Hello Big and Little Ms, My family recently started up a website called SeedLiving, to enable small and diversified growers to exchange open pollinated seeds, live plants and news with each other. Its a pay what you can website so that everyone can participate. We’re hoping to make a dent in the strength and the profits of the largest seed companies, primarily those who copyright and treat their seeds.
Seeds and gardening are a billion dollar industry and I would like some of that to trickle down back to the growers devoted to biodiversity. Our goal is to provide an online community for those dedicated growers to learn from each other and possibly gain another source of revenue.
If you need any help posting items please drop us a line, or, would you help get the word out?
