Salad cheat sheet

19 June 2009

Big M is the master at making salads and can turn any green leaf into something interesting. I need to follow a recipe or need some prompting.

I’ve just finished working on this salad cheat sheet and was keen to share it with everyone. The cheat sheet lists potential salad ingredients grouped together by type. It’s ideal to use to toss together your next salad. I’m going to colour print my version off, get it laminated and hang it up inside our kitchen cupboards.

If you want to be inspired by words, Healthy Eating, Naturally has a good summary on salad making 101.

Make your own craft journal

27 January 2009

I’ve been thinking about turning my craft journal template into a gardening journal, but haven’t worked out what the best things to record are. Any suggestions?

A journal is a great source of inspiration and reference for your projects. It is useful if you what to look back and remake a project. You can keep track of your swaps, and maintain an inventory of your supplies and tools. Here’s some instructions on how to make your own craft journal.

Craft journal

  1. Find a folder for your journal and decorate the cover.
  2. Print off the craft journal template [DOC 130kB]  or craft journal template [PDF 84kB]
  3. Decide if you are going to use plastic sheet protectors, if not punch holes.
  4. Add some white paper for sketching and some ruled paper for writing in the journal section.
  5. Decorate the dividers and pages as you wish.
  6. Don’t forget to add photos and swatches of fabric and yarn.

A funky font to use for the divider pages is rope.
