Hi,

Being self sufficient in food is most worthy goal. I have great pleasure in knowing what I've grown is going straight onto the plate within an hour of it being harvested.

Hope you don't mind, but I have included your site to be indexed by my search engine on www.ecowho.com .

Keep on growing. We too will be keeping chickens next..

Regards

Hi,
I work at the BBC and would really like to use your picture of the 60s pineapple and cheese on sticks stuck in a grapefruit. Could you please let me know asap if that would be possible. We would of course credit you.
Thanks,
Katie

I saw an interesting program on SBS a few months ago which examined different cultures well known for both longevity and lower life expectancies.
The Okinawans were amazing - another factor in their long lives was how the people who are very old now, learned to live on less in the hard war years and have maintained those habits into old age.
However most young Okinawans move to the big cities, adopt a western diet and consequently are not expected to have healthy, long lives like their great grand parents.

At the BOGI Fair, on Sunday the 4th of October at Albion Peace Hall, they will have seeds on sale. There will be Hong Kong broccoli there.
It is definitely an event worth attending.

Try growing Hong Kong broccoli. Can be grown all year round and you eat the entire plant (except the roots). Very small flower heads but sweeter than "normal" broccoli. It does like water otherwise it will set flowers quickly as well. However the flowers are tasty too. :)
